Lifelong learning program ``The Age-Friendly City - TAFTCity''
no. 2011-1-ES1-LEO 05-35886
The TAFCity project brings together seven partner countries - Spain, Great Britain, Hungary, Portugal, Slovenia, Belgium and Romania, transferring innovative educational methodologies to understand the concept of "Active Aging". The project promotes "The Age Friendly City" in partner cities and municipalities.
PROJECT FINANCED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
The Age Friendly City 'TAFCITY' – The city accessible to all age groups. The World Health Organization (WHO) launched an initiative that aims to promote the creation of "age friendly" environments (accessible to all age groups). A network of AgeFriendly cities was created, including San Sebastian in Spain and Maribor in Slovenia (all project partners).
This project has developed a training program for the promotion of 'The Age Friendly City' in which you are invited to participate. This workshop presented information about the initiative of the World Health Organization in the context of "Active Aging", which are demographic changes worldwide, but especially the policies and strategies developed by different cities for them. Since Maribor was the European Capital of Culture in 2012 and San Sebastian will be in 2016, these policies were integrated in the development of the campaign to obtain the candidacy and the development of these cities.
