DidaTec, a word that associates the process TEACHING with technology, started as an initiative of the main technical universities in Romania for the effective implementation of modern educational tools and combined learning technologies in the teaching-learning activity.

The mission of the project is to create the necessary framework for adapting the current environment of higher education in the field of engineering and technical sciences to a world and a way of life that follows the digital revolution. The vision is that of a true, active experience and the involvement in the life of a university student of gadgets from his everyday life, mixing science and engineering and having the teacher as a companion.

PROJECT FINANCED FROM THE EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUND

The general objective of the project is to improve the education and training processes in technical higher education (engineering sciences), through a complete and unitary program (national approach) of learning and training of teaching staff in higher education throughout their lives. The purpose of the project is to acquire skills in the field of interactive teaching and learning techniques and ITC, as a key factor for a relevant education, in accordance with the specific needs of the economy.

Mainly, this will be achieved by:

  • the implementation of a pilot program consisting of 6 courses of modern educational tools and the use of ITC, by more than 800 existing higher education teachers;
  • implementation of a mentoring program for over 200 young specialists/professionals starting a career in engineering education;
  • providing assistance and technical guidance for the restructuring of over 900 courses taught in universities throughout Romania in the field of engineering education.

In the context of the more general objective of the project, the specific objectives that must be fulfilled are the following:

  • the consolidation of intra- and inter-university cooperation, as well as cooperation with other interested actors, for the development of an effective system of education and training for teaching staff in higher education in the field of engineering sciences;
  • the elaboration of a quality standard for the lifelong learning program and the training of teaching staff in higher education and trainers, of a personal development planof and of one career plan - guidelines for teaching staff in higher education;
  • at the institutional level, the acquisition of competences, as well as the development of procedures and methodologies regarding the organization, implementation and promotion of lifelong learning and training programs;
